The Vivistim® Paired VNS™ (Vagus Nerve Stimulation) System is the first FDA-approved device that combines vagus nerve stimulation with occupational or physical therapy to help improve hand and arm function after an ischemic stroke. Following surgical implantation of the Vivistim device, Allied Services plays a critical role in guiding patients through the specialized therapy process, delivering expert in-clinic therapy to maximize recovery outcomes.

Am I a Candidate?

Vivistim is intended for adults who:

  • Had an ischemic stroke at least 6 months ago
  • Have moderate to severe hand and arm impairment
  • Want to improve their hand and arm function 2-3 times more than conventional therapy
  • Retain some wrist and finger movement
  • Are cognitively able to participate in therapy
