Investing in Pediatrics

For more than 40 years, children in the Wyoming Valley have relied on Allied Services for clinical expertise, state-of-the-art rehab technology, and a multidisciplinary approach. The Pediatric Program provides life-changing and life-enhancing care for children living with disability, life-altering trauma, and a myriad of chronic conditions.

Our experienced rehab professionals offer specialized treatments – many not available from other local providers - for children with complex and multi-system disabilities. We provide physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy treatments for a variety of conditions including autism, brain injury, cerebral palsy, complex regional pain syndrome, developmental delay, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, and torticollis.

Pediatrics by the Numbers

Each year, Allied Services provides:

  • 29,784 pediatric therapy appointments.
  • 8,524 hours of treatment to children on Medical Assistance.
  • Services for 1,200 children in the Wyoming Valley.

Sustaining Critical Services

Each year, the Pediatric Program in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre provides life-changing care to children, many of whom are underinsured or uninsured. Sustaining costly services and ensuring access to care for children in our area has become increasingly challenging due in part to escalating healthcare expenses and restrictive reimbursement rates. The heavy annual expenses incurred by the program place these vital pediatric services at risk.

Partnering for Pediatrics

In 2024, Allied Services announced a partnership with AllOne Foundation and Charities which includes a 2-year commitment to invest in the sustainability of essential pediatric therapies at Allied Services. AllOne Foundation and Charities is committed to improving access to health care for the under-insured and uninsured and improving children’s health and well-being, among other goals.

Allied Services pediatric rehab centers in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre were re-dedicated for the late Attorney John P. Moses. During his lifetime, Attorney Moses was known for his dedication to helping children in need. He served as Board Chairman and Board Member of the AllOne Foundation and Charities before his sudden passing in 2022.
