Allied Services and AllOne Foundation and Charities dedication celebrates kids

The start of the New Year brings good news to Allied Services. Patients and families visiting Allied Services’ pediatric rehab centers will notice new signage and branding elements starting in January 2024. That’s thanks to a partnership between Allied Services and AllOne Foundation & Charities.

Allied Services pediatric rehab centers in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre were named for the late Attorney John P. Moses in a formal ceremony attended by AllOne Foundation and Charities Board Members, Allied Services Board members, leadership, staff, patients, and community partners. Attorney Moses was known for his lifelong dedication to helping children in need. He served as Board Chairman and Board Member of the AllOne Foundation and Charities before his sudden passing in 2022.

“Attorney Moses dedicated his life to serving this community. His time with St Jude’s Children’s Hospital created a special interest in John to ensure that children with special medical needs could be treated right in the community where they lived,” commented Bill Conaboy Esq., President & CEO of Allied Services. “The grant from AllOne Foundation & Charities will help us to honor John’s legacy by giving us the ability to care for children right here in this community.”

In late 2023, the AllOne Foundation and Charities approved a grant to invest in the sustainability of specialized pediatric rehab services at Allied Services. The investment will total $2 million over 2 years to support the delivery of essential pediatric therapies to children infant to 18 years, regardless of insurance or financial status. AllOne Foundation and Charities is committed to improving access to health care for the under-insured and uninsured and improving children’s health and well-being, among other goals.

“To have my father’s name associated with this institute is so appropriate as he experienced first-hand the great quality of care that Allied Services delivered to him as a patient daily,” commented Peter Moses. “To have his name attached to a pediatric wing is more fitting because, as you know, my Dad worked tirelessly for so many years for the health and wellness of children worldwide.

Allied Services has a long history of providing exceptional rehabilitation services for individuals with disabilities, life-changing injuries, and chronic illnesses. For over 40 years, that continuum of care has included specialized hospital-based rehab programs for children with complex and multi-system disabilities. Annually, the nonprofit delivers more than 24,000 therapy sessions to 1,200 pediatric patients, providing costly services to a largely underinsured or uninsured population.
