Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Allied Services Celebrate Successful Charity Auction from “Star Wars Night”

In a memorable evening blending sports and philanthropy, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins hosted their annual "Star Wars Night" on March 23, 2024, at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. The night featured a thrilling game against the Utica Comets and a special auction that captured the hearts of fans.

For this special event, Penguins players donned limited edition jerseys inspired by Ahsoka Tano, a beloved character from the Star Wars saga. These unique jerseys were not for sale but were instead available through a spirited online auction where fans had the opportunity to place their bids.

Raising a remarkable total of $11,330.00, all proceeds from the auction were then donated to the Allied Services John P. Moses Pediatric Centers in partnership with AllOne Foundation and Charities.

Rob Belza, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, recently presented the proceeds from the auction to Allied Services. The check presentation took place at MotorWorld Lexus during a gathering of the Autism Golf Classic Committee, which is gearing up for their upcoming event on June 17, 2024, at the Huntsville Golf Club.

"We’ve had a great partnership with Allied Services for many years," said Mr. Belza. "A lot of credit goes to Lucas Film for their cooperation, our staff for their hard work in organizing this event, and especially to Allied Services and their team for their daily commitment to helping children in our area."

Jim Brogna, Vice President at Allied Services, expressed his gratitude for the ongoing support: "This generous donation from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and their fans is a testament to the strength of our community partnerships. These funds will significantly enhance the services we provide to children at the John P. Moses Pediatric Centers. We are deeply thankful to everyone who participated in making this event a success and look forward to continuing our impactful work together."

The community is encouraged to join in supporting these critical services by purchasing a Lexus Champions for Charity Pebble Beach raffle ticket or making a monetary or in-kind donation by calling our Foundation office 570-348-1407 or clicking online alliedservices.org/autismgolf
