Wyoming Valley Run benefits patients at Allied Services
News
An inaugural race that was forced to go virtual succeeded in raising funds for area non-profit organizations. Ben Robinson, Race Director and Coach of The Wyoming Valley Run, recently presented Allied Services with a donation of $1,700 to benefit patients, residents and families served by the non-profit health system.
"We at The Wyoming Valley Run are extremely happy and grateful that the running community came together and joined us for our virtual run this year" said Ben Robinson, Race Director and Coach, The Wyoming Valley Run.
"Through this event we were able to raise $6,800 to donate to the four amazing local charities that include the Allied Services Foundation, Candy's Place, Camp Freedom, and Northeast Sight Services. We are proud to announce that each organization will receive $1,700! I would like to thank each organization for what they do for our local communities."
The Wyoming Valley Run was originally scheduled for September 6, 2020 along a 10 mile course from Pittston to Wilkes-Barre. In an effort to keep runners and walkers safe and healthy, the decision was made to cancel the in-person event. Instead, participants in the virtual race completed their 10 miles from September 5th to the 7th.
Allied Services thanks The Wyoming Valley Run and its participants for their generous support.
