No Visitor Policy in place at Allied Services

No Visitor Policy in place at Allied Services

To Our Customers, Patients, Residents and Family Members:

The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread across the country. Allied Services Integrated Health System and our employees provide care for medically complex, elderly or otherwise vulnerable individuals at facilities in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Ensuring patients and residents are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is our greatest concern.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health recommends a no visitor policy in nursing facilities except in the instances of end-of-life events that require visitation from immediate family members, friends, and religious leaders. Based upon these recommendations, Allied Services will be implementing a no visitation policy at a number of relevant facilities as we continue to protect the health and safety of our patients, residents and staff.

  • Effective as 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020 a no visitor policy will be enforced at the following locations
    • Allied Services Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center in Scranton
    • Allied Services Meade Street Residence & Skilled Nursing in Wilkes-Barre
    • Allied Services Center City Residence & Skilled Nursing in Wilkes-Barre
    • Transitional Care at Allied Services Rehab Hospital in Scranton
    • Transitional Care at Heinz Rehab Hospital in Wilkes-Barre
    • All residential facilities for adults with disabilities
  • Effective as of 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2020 a no visitor policy will be enforced at the following locations:
    • Allied Services Rehab Hospital in Scranton
    • Heinz Rehab Hospital in Wilkes-Barre
  • Effective as of Monday, March 16, 2020 a no visitor policy will be enforced at the following location:
    • Personal Care at Allied Terrace in Scranton
  • An exception to the no visitor policy will be made for instances of end-of-life care that require visitation from immediate family members, friends, and religious leaders.

We appreciate that this may be upsetting for residents, patients and family members. Every effort has been made to contact family members to allow for visitation before the no visitor policy goes into effect. In addition, the number of iPads and other communication devices has been increased at our facilities to allow residents and patients to communicate with their loved ones. Our staff will continue to work with patients, residents and their families to ensure regular communication about their care.

We are grateful for your cooperation and assistance as we continue with measures to protect the safety of our patients, residents, staff and their families.
