Allied Services dePaul School receives donation from McDonald’s Restaurants
On Friday, October 28, 2016, McDonald’s Owner/Operator Christina Mueller-Curran presented a check for $5,000 to the dePaul School for Dyslexia. The donation represents proceeds from a “Large Fry” fundraiser conducted at 11 area McDonald’s restaurants from October 3 – 17 in recognition of National Dyslexia Awareness Month. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of every large fry were designated for the dePaul School Scholarship Fund.
The fundraiser had special meaning for McDonald’s owner/operator Christins Mueller-Curran, whose daughter needed the services of the dePaul School when she was entering elementary school. “Without the services provided by the school, my daughter would have fallen behind academically at a very early age. I know firsthand what an important service the dePaul School’s caring staff provides for children that are diagnoses with Dyslexia or other information processing challenges.”
It is estimated that one out of every 10 children in Northeastern Pa experience some form of dyslexia or other learning related differences.
