PEOPLE ON THE MOVE: ALLIED SERVICES INTEGRATED HEALTH SYSTEM
DR. EDWARD G. ZURAD, MD, FAAFP, FACOEM, MRO-C, DABFP, CAQ-Geriatrics: Allied Services Integrated Health System announced the appointment of Dr. Edward G. Zurad to the position of Associate Medical Director of Allied Services Hospice. Dr. Zurad brings with him 31years of experience as a Board Certified Family Physician to his new role at Allied Services.
Allied Services Hospice began serving patients in 2015, adding to the continuum of post acute care for which Allied Services has earned national acclaim. Dr. Zurad joins an experienced team that includes registered nurses, medical social workers, certified nurse aides, spiritual and bereavement counselors, and specially trained volunteers to deliver round-the-clock hospice care to patients, residents and their families. Allied Services Hospice is a Pennsylvania licensed, Medicare and Medicaid certified provider.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Zurad completed his medical education at Jefferson Medical College. He holds certifications in geriatric medicine and gastrointestinal endoscopy, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice. In 2002, Dr. Zurad was named Pennsylvania Family Physician of the Year and in 2003, he was awarded the Rural Health Award. This award is given to an outstanding leader who has organized, lead, developed or expanded an exemplary, multi‐dimensional state rural health education program or initiative that benefits rural Pennsylvanians.
Dr. Zurad currently holds the position of Clinical Associate Professor at Commonwealth Medical College in Scranton. He also serves as Clinical Associate Professor at Temple University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He is a Master of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (MACOEM ).
