Gertrude Hawk Chocolates makes sweet donation to Allied Services
Team Allied Services News
Allied Services Integrated Health System is proud to announce Gertrude Hawk Chocolates as a returning major sponsor of WNEP’s Team Allied Services 11, the annual campaign to raise funds for children and adults with disabilities at Allied Services. Gertrude Hawk Chocolates is a long-time supporter of Allied Services, donating over the years to support the non-profit’s school for children with dyslexia, skilled nursing facilities, vocational programs for adults with disabilities and other programs that benefit individuals, families and communities in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
As a major sponsor, Gertrude Hawk Chocolates made a donation of $15,000 recently to support Allied Services work in providing healthcare and human services to individuals with disabilities, life-changing injuries and chronic illness.
“Gertrude Hawk Chocolates has been giving back to the community since our founding in 1936. Allied Services provides support and care to thousands of individuals and families across our region. We are proud to be a Sponsor of Team Allied Services and support the mission of Allied Services, particularly in these challenging times,” said Carolyn Hawk Horter, Chair of the Board at Gertrude Hawk Chocolates.
Gertrude Hawk Chocolates recently held an employee walk outside its facility in the Keystone Industrial Park in Dunmore. Close to 100 employees took time on their lunch break to show their support, wearing their official Team Allied Services team shirts during the 1 mile walk.
Although many of the usual fitness and fundraising events associated with the annual charity campaign are not taking place, there are groups and individuals lending their support to help raise funds and awareness for Allied Services and the patients, families and communities the non-profit health system serves.
