PRISCILLA COONEY Mountain Top, PA Team Member 2019
Team Allied Services Ambassadors
Being employed in the healthcare profession, I realize how beneficial Allied Services is in providing care to residents of Northeast Pennsylvania. I’ve always found enjoyment in running and now, I will be running for a wonderful organization - Allied Services.
On November 3, Priscilla Cooney will run the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon as part of WNEP’s Team Allied Services 10th anniversary. She is running to raise funds and awareness for children and adults with disabilities. Priscilla is also running in honor of a young girl, Sophie, from Hanover Township.
Three year old Sophie is a well-loved patient at Heinz Rehab Hospital in Wilkes-Barre. She is known for her megawatt smile and killer dance moves!
Sophie was born with CHARGE syndrome, a complex genetic syndrome that can affect a child’s swallowing, breathing, balance, vision and communication.
With the help of her therapists and parents, she is learning to swallow, eat and try new tastes and textures. Sophie also receives physical therapy at Allied Services and is working on taking her first unaided steps.
Sophie loves everything to do with Sesame Street and is quite the girly-girl. She loves playing with her younger sister, Mady. She has an eye for jewelry and loves to dance.
