CHRIS STEINER Drums, PA Team Member 2018 & 2019
Team Allied Services Ambassadors
We run because we can, all to help provide much needed therapies for individuals with disabilities through Allied Services. This team is a fun, crazy and compassionate group of runners.
This year, I am running for my brother-in-law, Sammy. Sammy was born in 2012 with severe Microcephaly. At three days old, Sammy came to live with my in-laws (Bill and Joanne Coolbaugh), long time foster parents who adopted him several months later.
In addition to Microcephaly, Sammy was born blind, deaf, diabetic and having Tracheomalacia, a condition which complicates breathing and swallowing. At six months, Sammy became very ill with a respiratory illness resulting in him needing a Tracheostomy. At almost 7 years old, Sammy has regained his hearing and minor vision; however, he is unable to sit, stand, eat, play or communicate on his own.
Sammy is a blessing who continues blessing others with his willingness to fight. And because he fights, we fight alongside him. Sammy would not be here today without the compassion of his family, and the many therapists who administer the rehabilitation he desperately needs.
This campaign helps individuals, like Sammy, get the therapy they need to live the best life they can. Your donation will support the work of Allied Services; helping people regain health and independence after an injury, empowering children to overcome a learning disability and much more.
