Full-time, days role.

Under the supervision of the AVP/Nursing, the Infection Prevention Nurse is responsible for the administration of an effective infection control program for both rehabilitation hospitals, Outpatient Clinic and TRU Units as determined by the Infection Control Committee and in accordance with mandated CDC standards.

The Infection Prevention Nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served within the hospitals, outpatient clinics, and Transitional Rehab Units – adolescent through geriatric. The Infection Prevention Nurse must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span; possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status; interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to the populations served by the hospital, outpatient clinics and TRU units; and to provide the care needed as described in the Infection Control Program’s policies and procedures.

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Certification in Infection Control and epidemiology (CIC) required.
  • Work experience: Minimum of three (3) years medical/surgical experience or rehabilitation nursing experience required.

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing Services, the Infection Control Preventionist is responsible for the administration of an effective infection control program in accordance with mandated CDC standards as well as federal and state regulations. Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the age-specific needs of the residents served.

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Have completed specialized training in Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Work experience: Minimum of five (5) years of medical/surgical experience or long term care nursing experience required.
