Pocono Briefs: Monroe County Bar Foundation continues support for local non-profits

The Monroe County Bar Foundation continued its ongoing dedication to Monroe County donating more than $66,000 to nonprofits from across the region.

Burnley Workshop of the Poconos has been awarded $6,918 to ensure the safety of their clients, visitors and staff. In recent years, they have experienced increasing vandalism and increased littering to their parking lot when the public uses it park while attending games held on the adjacent playing fields.

Victims of domestic violence receive a multitude of services from Women’s Resources of Monroe County. Legal advocacy for these victims is a key component as they work to provide themselves with a safer environment. By providing $10,000 grant victims will have assistance with their legal issues through their legal advocacy team.

Hospice House of Monroe County, owned by Lehigh Valley Health Network, was provided with a $50,000 grant for capital improvements for the recently reopened hospice house.

The mission of the Monroe County Bar Foundation is to carry on educational and charitable activities for the general well-being of the residents of Monroe County and to aid nonprofit organizations primarily benefiting residents of the Monroe County Community.
