Healing Forest Walk - August

About This Event
Join Mindy Hill, yoga instructor, for a Healing Forest Walk aimed at helping you heal by connecting with nature. The walk is free and open to everyone, 15 and older. The group will walk in silence to allow walkers to listen to nature and be aware of their surroundings. Over the course of the walk you may undertake short tasks (forest meditations) that deepen your connection with the forests. Please undertake the task to the best of your ability and inclination.

Typically, the Healing Forest Walk will be 1 to 2 hours. The group will walk slowly for 15 minutes and spend then next 20 minutes focusing on one of your senses – sight, sound, smell, taste, touch. We can then continue the walk and stop whenever you find a place that calls out to you to observe and learn from nature.

Directions to walk: use the main entrance to Lackawanna State Park off Route 407 in Dalton. Park and meet in the very last parking lot.

In the event of inclement weather, please refer to our Facebook page to see if the walk is cancelled, or use your discretion.

How: you can RSVP by marking yourself "going" to this event on facebook or by contacting YogawithMindy@comcast.net

COVID-19 UPDATE: As part of our best effort to keep our staff and community safe, we would like to remind everyone to review the current masking policy in Pennsylvania. Participants should bring a mask to be worn when social distancing isn't possible. If you feel more comfortable wearing your mask all the time, you are welcome to do so. As this event is taking place in a wide open space where we are meant to be spread apart, we will not be taking temperatures, but do ask that attendees check-in with Mindy so that we can maintain an attendance list. Certainly stay home if you are not feeling well.
