Your Support Matters: Alex’s Story

It's been almost 8 years since Trooper Alex Douglass was wounded in a state police barracks ambush. So much has changed since then for the former marathon runner. Trooper Alex Douglass and his wife, Jackie, chatted with us about how the injuries affected him, and how he's doing now.

In 2021, Jackie Douglass participated in the TCS New York City Marathon as part of our marathon team, raising funds that helped to purchase the Alter-G anti-gravity treadmill, amongst other things. Today, Alex is using the treadmill in therapy. He describes how the device fills up with air to take the pressure and impact off his affected leg while running and walking.

"Having Allied's support he will be able to do more things and hopefully will be able to get back to running a marathon" says Jackie.
