STEPHANIE COLLINS Dalton, PA Team Member 2019

I started running in college and have completed numerous 5ks, 10ks and half marathons, however I have not yet tackled the full 26.2 miles. Once I began working for Allied Services, I became inspired by the Team Allied Services campaign and the effect it had on our patients and I knew I wanted to be a part of it!

On November 3rd, Stephanie Collins will run the TCS New York City Marathon. Stephanie was inspired to run her first marathon by her patients at Allied Services.

“I have been a physical therapist with Allied Services for 3 years, and I have been blessed to meet some of the most dedicated, driven people. I have witnessed firsthand the impact the Team Allied Services campaign has had on our patients and it is truly inspiring.”

Stephanie is running in honor of Patti Bobrowski, a patient at Allied Services. Following a history of back surgeries, Patti developed an abscess on her spinal cord which resulted in unexpected paralysis. Specifically, Patti lost the ability to move her legs.

Since then, Patti has demonstrated incredible dedication and resilience as she works towards regaining her functional mobility. She is currently working to regain her strength and improve her ability to walk. Recently, she has been training with her therapists in the Indego Exoskeleon, a device which was purchased through the funds raised during last year’s Team Allied Services campaign. Patti has come a long way, as she is now able to walk short community distances with the help of a walker. She hopes to continue her progress to further improve her ability to walk and reach her goals.
