Honoring and Caring for Veterans at Allied Services

At Allied Services, we believe that honoring Veterans begins long before they are gone. Through every stage of recovery, healing, and aging, we are proud to care for the men and women who served our country with courage and sacrifice.

Veteran-Centered Care Across the Continuum

Veterans in our community deserve comprehensive, compassionate care that recognizes their unique experiences. Allied Services provides a full spectrum of services tailored to their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs:

  • Advanced Physical Rehabilitation: Helping Veterans recover and rebuild after traumatic injuries, including limb loss, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury.
  • Home Health, In-Home Services, and Long-Term Care: Offering skilled nursing, personal care, and in-home support that prioritizes independence and dignity.
  • Hospice and Palliative Services: Providing comfort and support in the final chapter of life, with an emphasis on peace, compassion, and respect for military service.

Wherever Veterans are in their healthcare journey - at home, in a physical rehabilitation center, or in long-term or hospice care - our team stands ready to serve them with the highest standard of care.

Honoring Service at Life’s End

As part of our Hospice and Palliative programs, Allied Services offers a deeply personal Veteran Recognition Ceremony - a program that ensures every Veteran’s service is honored before they pass. These ceremonies are conducted by a retired Vietnam Veteran who volunteers with Allied Hospice, bringing reverence and empathy to each tribute.

During the ceremony, the patient and family are presented with:

  • A Certificate of Service
  • A star from a retired American flag
  • A small American flag
  • A division flag representing the branch or unit in which the Veteran served

These ceremonies take place wherever the Veteran resides - whether at home, in a facility, or in one of our inpatient units - and are a profound source of peace and pride for patients and families alike.

“Recognizing a Veteran’s service brings comfort, dignity, and often a sense of healing to patients and their loved ones. These moments remind us that the sacrifices they made were not forgotten. It's an honor for our hospice team to witness such meaningful expressions of gratitude.”
Laura Marion, AVP of Hospice and Palliative Care, Allied Services

Powered by Team Allied and Donor Generosity

Programs like the Veteran Recognition Ceremony are made possible thanks to the generosity of donors and supporters. When individuals join Team Allied Services - as runners, sponsors, or donors - they help to support efforts like these that provide emotional and spiritual support to Veterans in their final days.

Every mile run and every dollar raised goes toward ensuring that those who served receive the honor, care, and compassion they deserve.
