Employee Spotlight: Donna Zupp, RN

In 2022, Allied Services Home Health will celebrate 40 years of serving patients. One team member, Donna Zupp, RN, has been a valued member of the team for almost 30 of those years.

Before joining Allied Services in 1992, Donna worked at Moses Taylor Hospital. When she made the switch from acute care nursing to home health nursing, she immediately knew that she had made the right decision.

“I’ve always had a strong calling to serve others. I truly feel like home health nursing is my vocation. I’m able to help people every day. I go into their homes and get to know them. I especially enjoy caring for the geriatric population, helping them to stay in their own homes.”

Donna says that she knows that home health nursing might seem like an easy job to an outsider. Nurses only have to work with one patient at a time, and you’re away from the stress and fast pace of the hospital setting.

“You do have the luxury of setting your own schedule but it can be a challenging job some days. I feel that I’m using all of my knowledge and expertise as a nurse every day.”

During her time at Allied Services, Donna has served countless individuals and families, including World War II veterans.

“I love the challenge of caring for patients in their own homes. You have to be able to adapt and find what works best for them. You really get to know them and their families. After 29 years, I still love this job. I’ve had opportunities to grow with Allied Services, but at the end of the day, what I love most is being in the field.”
