The staff and leadership at Allied Services Center City Skilled Nursing in Wilkes-Barre is celebrating national recognition for excellence in patient care. The facility, which provides short-term rehab and long-term skilled nursing care, earned the 2022-2023 Best Nursing Home title in the latest U.S. News and World Report. Center City Skilled Nursing earned the title while also achieving the highest possible rating – High Performing – in the category of long-term care.

U.S. News gives the designation of Best Nursing Home only to those homes that satisfy U.S. News's assessment of the appropriate use of essential services and consistent performance in quality measures. To be recognized as one of the 2022-2023 U.S. News Best Nursing Homes, a home must have been "High Performing" in short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, or both. Of the more than 15,000 nursing homes evaluated, 2,426 met those criteria. 1,658 homes were High Performing in short-term rehabilitation, 1,103 homes were High Performing in long-term care, and 335 were High Performing in both.

"Our patients and residents are our number one priority, and that shows in our staff's compassion, dedication, and expertise," commented Julie Buratti-Brislin, NHA, MHA, Administrator of Allied Services Center City Nursing. "This award is welcome recognition of the daily efforts of our staff and leadership to provide the highest level of care for our patients and residents."

Newly Remodeled 5-Star Facility

The award comes as Allied Services prepares to welcome patients, residents, and community members to a series of Open Houses celebrating the successful completion of a widespread renovation project. The months-long project was completed in June 2022. The 80 East Northampton Street facility in Wilkes-Barre now boasts 42 private rooms, private balconies, a choice of 4 resident and family dining areas, a new therapy gym, and a lobby.

"We're proud of the welcoming environment at Center City Skilled Nursing. The enhancements we've made are stunning and, more importantly, support the safety, well-being, and comfort of our patients, residents, staff, and visitors," said Julie Buratti-Brislin.
