Dwyer Earns Certification in Antibiotic Stewardship

Jillian Dwyer, PharmD., BCGP, recently achieved certification in Antibiotic Stewardship through the Making A Difference in Infectious Diseases organization (MAD-ID). Significant increases in antimicrobial resistance have created an urgent need for the appropriate use and management of antimicrobial prescribing. Antibiotic Stewardship is the effort for providers to gain knowledge regarding antimicrobial resistance, develop strategies that can be employed to minimize the suboptimal use of antimicrobial agents, and implement change at their respective practice sites to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Dwyer received her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Wilkes University in 2011 and began working with Allied Services Integrated Health System in 2012. Along with her Antibiotic Stewardship, Dwyer is also a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist.
