As Autism Awareness Month draws to an end, staff at Allied Services Wilkes-Barre Rehab Hospital took time to recognize the contributions of the Autism Golf Classic and its presenting sponsors, MotorWorld MileOne Autogroup and MotorWorld Lexus. Proceeds from the Autism Golf Classic and the Lexus Champions for Charity Pebble Beach Raffle support pediatric autism programs at Allied Services.

In 2021, Allied Services provided 32,839 therapeutic visits for pediatric patients in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. Speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy staff at Allied Services served more than 600 pediatric patients in the last year, including children with challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech, and nonverbal communication, common to autism and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Since 2000, the focus of the Autism Golf Classic has been to support Autism services, including the formation of Parents & Professionals which has coordinated many socialization programs such as train excursions, field trips, and other events for Autistic children and their families!

The Autism Golf Classic takes place on Monday, June 20, 2022, at the Huntsville Golf Club in Lehman, PA.

MotorWorld MileOne Autogroup and MotorWorld Lexus provide additional support for autism services through the Lexus Champions for Charity Pebble Beach Raffle. Allied Services is a designated beneficiary of Lexus Champions for Charity. As the regional designee, Allied Services conducts a raffle with 300 chances to win the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play in a 3-day charity golf tournament at the famous Pebble Beach Resort. Tickets are $100 each.

One lucky winner and their guest will attend and play in the 2022 Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship, at the Pebble Beach Resorts in Pebble Beach, California in December 2022. The raffle prize includes:

  • Two (2) Tournament participants will compete in the 2022 Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship for a $100,000 charity purse. The tournament is scheduled for December 7-11, 2022.
  • Tournament participants will receive a hospitality package including meals and golf fees. The included golf fees are only for the 3-day, 54 hole tournament, and 18 holes per day using Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill, and The Links at Spanish Bay. Club or touring professionals and Lexus affiliates are not eligible to participate in the National Championship and current verifiable handicaps are required.
  • The host hotel for all participants will be The Inn at Spanish Bay, and all hotel reservations must be made by contacting a Lexus Champions for Charity representative. Allied Services will provide a $5000 stipend to the winner for airfare and hotel accommodations.
  • There will be several hole-in-one opportunities to win Lexus automobiles. Each tournament participant will receive a gift bag upon registration.

Since 1989, the annual Lexus Champions for Charity golf series has raised over $452 million for charity causes. The golf series begins with over 195 golf tournaments held at golf and country clubs around the U.S., and culminates in a three-day championship tournament at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Links at Spanish Bay and Spyglass Hill.
