Careers in Focus: Patient Accounting

Denise Stull joined Allied Services as a Patient Account Representative in March of 2021. She lives in Lake Winola with her husband and two children. If there is one thing she regrets, it's that she waited so long to make a change in her career.

"I worked in banking for 13 years. With banking, there's no flexibility with the hours: 9-5 Monday to Thursday, 9-6 on Fridays, and then working on Saturdays. That just doesn't work for my lifestyle. I've got young kids. At Allied Services, I can come in early and be home early, and there's no weekends. I wish I had made the move sooner."

Although Denise had a background in banking, she received training to be successful in her new role. After the initial period of job shadowing, she could always ask for support and guidance from her immediate supervisor and others in the Patient Accounting department. Denise works with patients and their families, ensuring that bills are paid correctly.

Denise is so happy in her new role that when an opening came up, she referred her sister for the job, and she soon joined Allied Services. For now, Denise wants to focus on learning more about the insurance side of patient accounting.

Allied Services currently has an opening for a Patient Account Representative in Clarks. Explore job opportunities.
