THE COURSE

THE FINISH

As you cross the finish line, MarathonFoto will take your picture and video. Keep your race number visible, look up, and smile! Soon after, you’ll receive a medal, a post-race poncho, a face covering, and snacks.

  • You will be able to exit Central Park at West 76th, West 74th, West 69th, and West 66th
  • You will reach your exit apx. 45 minutes after you cross the finish line.
  • The area in dark blue is closed to the public.
  • Please review the Finish Map when deciding on a meeting place with friends or family
  • Note that the blue area left of the finish line is the “Frozen Zone.” This is completely off-limits to the public.
  • BEST OPTION: prior to the marathon, pick an exact location to meet your family and friends. Pick somewhere outside of the frozen zone, say 1 block over. Find a landmark, store, or street name you can remember and find, and decide to meet there. You will be dressed in a poncho and will look identical to thousands of others so your family may not spot you right away!! Don’t rely on your cell phone - the battery will most likely be dead and the networks will be jammed with everyone trying to call their family.
  • ATTENTION RETURNING RUNNERS: The NYRR has changed the finish line since last year! There is now no early-exit. Uggh. Please look at the map and review the new exit points.
  • FINISH LINE MAP: view it here.

OFFICIAL MERCHANDISE

There are 3 in-person sites where you can purchase official merchandise throughout Marathon week.

  • Expo: the expo has the largest selection of merchandise. The expo closes on Saturday, November 5th at 5:00 p.m.
  • NYRR RunCenter: Close to Columbus Circle is the NYRR Run Center. This is where many NYRR member runs start. There is a mini display of all of the medals from all of the 50 marathons plus a store with a much smaller selection. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit. Cool backdrop for photos, a small store, and a chance to learn some of the history of the marathon.
  • Pavillion: on Monday and Tuesday after the marathon, the Pavillion at the finish line (Tavern on the Green) turns into a finishers store and engraving center. Marathon Monday and Tuesday at the TCS New York City Marathon Pavilion Presented by Mastercard offers marathoners the opportunity to return to the finish line area to celebrate their accomplishment, jumpstart recovery, shop, get their medals engraved, and relive the memories.

MARATHON MONDAY AND TUESDAY
