WNEP’s Team Allied Services raised more than $500,000 with help from the community

On November 7, 2021, a team of almost 60 runners represented Allied Services and WNEP’s Team Allied Services in the TCS New York City Marathon. This was the 50th running of the New York City Marathon. The field of athletes was reduced from its usual 33,000 to around 25,000 to allow for COVID-19 precautions. For athletes representing WNEP’s Team Allied Services, the race was the culmination of months of training and fundraising. On November 12th, the campaign, now in its 12th year, came to a close with the announcement that a total of $507,054 was raised for Allied Services in 2021.

The campaign kicked off in late August at a concert hosted by 12-year corporate sponsor Mohegan Sun Pocono. In the following months, the volunteer runners spent many hours training and raising funds.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the continued generosity of our community, corporate sponsors, employees, local schools, and runners” commented Attorney Bill Conaboy, President and CEO of Allied Services Integrated Health System. “This charity campaign has had a profound impact on our health care system, providing tangible benefits for our dedicated staff as they work to improve the lives of patients and residents in the region.”

The proceeds from this year's campaign will benefit individuals with disabilities and life-changing injuries served by Allied Services, enabling the non-profit health system to invest in cutting-edge technology and services. Each day, Allied Services and its staff and volunteers touch the lives of more than 5,000 people. The continuum of care provided by Allied Services includes mental health services, home health, non-medical home care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, hospice and palliative care, residential care for individuals with disabilities, skilled nursing, personal care, and vocational services.

Allied Services wish to thank media sponsor WNEP TV-16, corporate sponsors Mohegan Sun Pocono, Northeast Rehab, Weis Markets, Baker Tilly, Jack Williams Tire, United Concordia Dental, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, MotorWorld|MileOne Autogroup, Open Access BPO, the Hawk Family Foundation, Lamar Advertising, signature event sponsors Aon and Quantum Rehab, and the many Team Allied Services donors for their outstanding commitment to supporting children and adults with disabilities.
