WNEP’s Team Allied Services raised more than $611,000 with help from the community
Team Allied Services News
On November 3, 2019, WNEP’s Ryan Leckey and a team of 50 athletes competed in the TCS New York City Marathon. This year's race featured more than 52,000 finishers. For athletes representing WNEP’s Team Allied Services, the race was the culmination of months of training and fundraising. On November 8th, the campaign, now in its 10th year, came to a close with the announcement that a total of $611,527 was raised for Allied Services in 2019.
The campaign officially kicked off in late August at a concert hosted by 10-year corporate sponsor Mohegan Sun Pocono. In the following months, the volunteer runners spent many hours training to prepare for the race while raising funds for the cause. Supporters purchased official Team Allied Services shirts and participated in fundraisers hosted by local schools, running clubs, and businesses. Many turned out to cheer on runners and walkers at the Seventh Annual Team Allied Services 5k and All-Abilities Walk held in mid October.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the continued generosity of our community, corporate sponsors, employees, local schools and runners” commented Atty. Bill Conaboy, President & CEO of Allied Services Integrated Health System. “We’re fortunate to have the support of so many partners and individuals who are committed to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities, life-changing injuries and chronic illness.”
Thanks to the support of WNEP TV, its major sponsors and the generosity of the local community, the Team Allied Services campaign has raised more than $3.8 million since 2010. The proceeds from this year's campaign will benefit individuals served by Allied Services, enabling the non-profit health system to invest in cutting-edge technology and services throughout Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.
Allied Services wish to thank media sponsor WNEP TV-16, corporate sponsors Baker Tilly, Jack Williams Tire, Mohegan Sun Pocono, Northeastern Rehabilitation Associates P.C., Open Access Marketing, MotorWorld Toyota, Weis Markets, Lamar Advertising, United Concordia Dental, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, signature event sponsors Aon and Quantum Rehab, and the many Team Allied Services donors for their outstanding commitment to supporting children and adults with disabilities.
