MATT MADDEN Throop PA Team Member 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019

I’m honored that I’ve been given the opportunity to be a part of WNEP’s Team Allied Services 10. Allied Services has helped many people, whether adults or children, get back to normal lifestyles after experiencing traumatic injuries.

On November 3, Matt Madden will run the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon. This will be the fifth time the Scranton native has run the iconic marathon on behalf of Allied Services. As an avid runner, Matt has run marathons from coast to coast: Salt Lake City, UT, Seattle, WA and Scranton PA’s very own Steamtown Marathon.

Matt is excited to once again dedicate this year’s marathon to his friend, Cara Van Fleet. Cara works at Allied Services Vocational Center in Scranton where she receives training and supervision to be successful in the workplace. She also works at her family’s grove in Covington Township.

Cara has an astoundingly positive attitude that never fails to brighten everyone’s day. She loves her family, her dog Tatum, and horse Duke. She is a veteran ambassador for Team Allied Services and proudly displays all of her previous Team Allied Services shirts in her closet at home.

Cara participates in the Vocational Center’s choral group and loves to be social. She loves to go to parties with her friends or go bowling. She recently celebrated her 29th birthday and is looking forward to being a bridesmaid in her sister’s wedding. The Vocational Center is a place where Cara can let all of her personality shine and be around her close group of friends. She is excited for the Team Allied Services All Abilities Walk and looks forward to it every year.
