MARCIA JOHNSON Scranton, PA Team Member 2019

The availability of state of the art rehab services provided by Allied Services is imperative to keep people moving. I love that we have big city services here in the small city of Scranton. Movement Education is my field of work and as we age, the importance of rehab therapy to improve and maintain locomotion is key!!

On November 3rd, Marcia Johnson will run the TCS New York City Marathon. The Scranton native has had a life-long passion for fitness, health and movement and is excited to take on her first ever marathon. Marcia will be cheered on by her students at Neil Armstrong Elementary. She has shared her love of running with her students, setting up the school’s running club, the Mighty Milers. Marcia and the Mighty Milers are regulars at the Team Allied Services 5k & All-Abilities Walk and have hosted several fundraisers for Team Allied Services.

Marcia is running in honor of Chris Powell of Spring Brook Township. Chris works at Allied Services W.W. Scranton Vocational Center and takes part in the Community Participation support program. He works on assembly and packaging jobs for local businesses alongside his coworkers and supervisors at Allied Services. Chris enjoys coming to work and has made many friends during his 10 years as an employee.

When he is not at work, Chris loves spending time with his friends. He enjoys going to the movies and the mall, and eating Chinese food with his mom and favorite aunts. He loves to sing and dance! Chris is known as a caring, outgoing and fun-loving guy by all of his friends. Marcia is sure to have the race of her life with Chris and the Mighty Milers cheering her on.
