Allied Services responds to news of cancellation of 2020 TCS New York City Marathon

Runners from around the world today received the news that the 2020 TCS New York City Marathon had been cancelled due to coronavirus-related health and safety concerns.

"As an Official Charity Partner for more than a decade, Allied Services is saddened by the news. We understand and respect the New York Road Runners’ decision and the importance of prioritizing the health and safety of spectators, runners and volunteers" commented Jim Brogna, Vice President of Strategic Partnership Development for Allied Services.

Allied Services fully supports the decision made by the New York Road Runners and will follow the guidance of deferred runner entry for 2021, 2022 or 2023 as an option.

Dozens of local runners have already registered and begun their training for the marathon which was due to take place on November 1, 2020. Allied Services and WNEP's Ryan's Run is fortunate to have the support of many generous, returning corporate sponsors who are committed to helping patients at Allied Services live healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives.

"In the coming weeks, we anticipate announcing a revised plan. Our hope is to provide opportunities to engage our community in wellness activities, celebrate our patients’ successes, honor the work of our staff and support the ongoing needs within our healthcare system" commented Brogna. "We appreciate the community's support and the incredibly positive impact that WNEP's Ryan's Run has had for our staff and patients."
