TERRI POLICARE Clarks Green, PA Team Member 2016 & 2019

I was a member of the Team in 2016. It was truly one of the highlights of my life. At the time, my Grandmother was in Allied Service Skilled Nursing Center and I saw firsthand how special Allied Services is to our community. I will be forever grateful for the care she received.

On November 3, Terri Policare will run the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon. This will be the second time the wife and mother will run for Allied Services. Terri will be dedicating her run to a special young girl, Evelyn (Evie) Dixon.

Evie is an outgoing 3 year old. She lives in Taylor with her parents and older brother, William. William has always been a great motivator for Evie, who always wants to do what her big brother is doing. Evie was born with spina bifida and developed hydrocephalus as a result. Many doctors believed Evie would not be able to run, jump, or dance on her own. Her parents were told she would not only need braces but also crutches and a wheelchair for long distances.

Since coming to Allied Services in 2018, Evie has learned how to ride a bike while also working to keep her muscles strengthened. Although her paralysis level is ankles down, she does not let it stop her and always “marches on.” Evie loves to play with dolls and is obsessed with the movie Frozen. She also loves to dance, which is something her parents never thought she would be able to do. Her parents also describe her as an outdoor kid and one of her favorite activities is playing on the swing set in her backyard.
