FRANK SWAHA Scranton, PA Team Member 2014, 2015 & 2019

I live by the motto, “The purpose of my life is to be authentic and passionate, live with a service mindset and help others PLAY BIG so they can be their best self.

On November 3, Frank Swaha will run the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon. This will be Frank’s third time running with the team and raising funds for patients at Allied Services.

“A lot has happened since my participation in 2015, but one thing has not changed and that is my desire and passion to help others. When I ran Ryan’s Run 5 campaign it was in honor of my mother who was receiving rehabilitation therapy from Allied Services. Sadly, she passed away from cancer in 2017. When I ran Ryan’s Run 6, it was to support my friend, Lisa Jones Kutra, whose personal mission was to complete a marathon while supporting the good work of Allied Services. We embarked on that journey together and made incredible memories every step of the way.”

This year, Frank will be running in memory of Lisa. She received compassionate care from the Allied Services Hospice Unit before passing away from Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. This year’s New York City Marathon will hold a special place in Frank’s heart as it would have been Lisa’s 49th birthday.

Frank is passionate about running and fitness. He is the assistant Cross Country Coach at North Pocono High School and volunteers with local children’s running groups in Mt. Cobb, Moscow and Scranton.
