COREY & ERIN BURNS, Factoryville, PA

We’ve been fortunate to be part of this campaign for many years, either behind the camera or helping to organize fundraising events or capturing milestones with patient ambassadors. We’re excited to be back once again, running and cheering for Miss Eva.

On November 3, husband and wife team, Corey and Erin Burns, will take on the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon. This will be the second time the couple has run the marathon together. They’re joining forces once again to run 26.2 miles through the 5 boroughs of New York City, all to raise funds and awareness for children and adults with disabilities served by Allied Services.

They’re running for 6 year old Eva Kilduff, a happy little girl who loves to make people laugh. Eva born with 2/3 of her liver outside of her body, a condition known as an Omphalocele. She came 8 weeks early to this world and had bilateral ventricular bleeds (strokes) in her brain which delayed her developmentally.

At 8 months old, Eva was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and Cortical Vision Impairment. That is when she began her journey at Allied Services. Over the past 5 years, Eva has achieved so many goals thanks, to name just a few: weaning from her feeding tube; eating age appropriate foods; using the hand impaired by the stroke; saying “mama” and “dada.”

Today, she speeds around the house chasing her dogs in her walker or wheelchair. She uses her expanded vocabulary to joke and make people laugh, and meet new friends! Because of her hard work in therapy, Eva was able to start kindergarten. She enjoys being outdoors, especially in the pool and playing golf, and loves to read.
