Memory Bears help the grieving feel closer to a loved one

Memory Bears help the grieving feel closer to a loved one

The feel of your the flannel shirt your Dad seemed to wear almost every day. The flowers on your grandmother's favorite dress. Your husband's favorite hockey jersey. Just seeing and feeling these can bring back precious memories and give you something to hold onto when you are lost in grief.

At Allied Services Hospice & Palliative Care, volunteers turn these treasured items of clothing into Memory Bears for families after a loved one has passed away. Volunteers receive a simple pattern, an item of clothing and any necessary supplies. The finisher bears are delivered to family members of patients of Allied Services In-Home Hospice and Allied Services Hospice Center.

If you love to sew and would like to make Memory Bears for family members at Allied Services Hospice, we would welcome your help.
