Allied Services Behavioral Health Division is hiring for its Schuylkill County team. Based in Pottsville, our Community Residential Rehabilitation program serves the needs of participants rebuilding their lives following a mental health diagnosis. The program supports the participants' full independence.

Allied Services is seeking caring individuals to join their Pottsville team. The Behavioral Health Division helps individuals become re-acquainted with social, economic, cultural, recreational and other resources in the community to more easily attain independent lifestyles. We utilize the principles of Psychiatric Rehabilitation in a group living environment.

Mental Health Workers 

Reporting directly to the Program Supervisor, the Mental Health Worker is responsible for carrying out the assigned programming to the residents. Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the age-specific needs of the residents served. High school diploma or equivalent required. college courses in the Humanities or Social Sciences preferred. Two (2) years experience in working with mentally handicapped individuals preferred. Duties include: 

  • Maintains apartment life in a harmonious and as close to “normal” environment as possible, free of tension and stress so that all residents can live together comfortably.
  • Teaches residents appropriate Activity of Daily Living Skills.
  • Implements specified individual service plans as developed by the residential rehabilitation team.
  • Provides individual support and direction for residents as needed.
  • Assists residents in community orientation and integration.
  • Provides physical assistance to residents as needed with Activities of Daily Living Skill development.
  • Must have valid PA drivers license.

Maintenance Mechanic

Under the direction of the Director MH Services and Director of Engineering , the Maintenance Mechanic performs unskilled and semi-skilled work in the installation, maintenance, repair, renovation and alteration of buildings, mechanical equipment and electrical systems.  Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served. Type of supervision exercised: none.  Jobs reporting to this position: none.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of courses in Basic Electricity and Plumbing at an accredited school, such as LCAVTS preferred. Experience in the building trades preferred. Duties include: 

  • Performs unskilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance, repair and alteration of buildings.
  • Performs unskilled and semi-skilled tasks or may assist a skilled worker in the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems and equipment. 
  • Performs unskilled and semi-skilled tasks or may assist a skilled worker in the maintenance, repair and installation of plumbing systems and fixtures.
  • Performs unskilled and semi-skilled tasks or may assist a skilled worker in the maintenance, repair and installation of HVAC equipment and systems.
