Employee Spotlight: James Mitchell, Resident Assistant

It’s pretty simple - I like helping people. It makes me happy.

James Mitchell has worked as a Resident Assistant at Allied Services Center City Residence in Wilkes-Barre for 3 and a half years. When he started his job search, the Resident Assistant position appealed to him because he likes helping others.

“It’s pretty simple - I like helping people. It makes me happy. Whenever I get the opportunity to help someone or make their day better - that is by far my favorite part of my job.”

Resident Assistants offer a friendly face and an extra set of hands for residents at the Personal Care facility. Whether they need help with grooming, dressing, bathing or keeping their apartment clean and tidy, Resident Assistants like James are there to help. The personal interaction and relationships that Resident Assistants and residents enjoy have become so much more important during the COVID-19 pandemic because of restrictions on visitors.

You can start earning today as a Personal Care Attendant (also known as Resident Assistant). Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, the Personal Care Attendant will assist in the care of residents by carrying out certain activities of daily living, recreational, dietary, and light housekeeping services in carefully selected situations.
