Area athletes prepare for a fitness showdown benefitting Allied Services

Allied Services Integrated Health System, a non-profit health system dedicated to providing healthcare and human services for individuals with disabilities, life-changing injuries and chronic illness, announced that it will host a one-day charity fitness competition. The fifth annual Clash for Cash will take place on Saturday, June 22nd inside the convention center at Mohegan Sun Pocono in Wilkes-Barre. The event, which is free for spectators, raises funds for children and adults with disabilities at Allied Services and is part of the WNEP Ryan’s Run campaign.

“Expect to see athletes of all ages and abilities pushing themselves to the limit. It really is an incredible sight to see so many athletes from Northeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and beyond coming together to share their love of fitness while supporting our patients” comments Jim Brogna, Vice President of Advancement & Corporate Communication, Allied Services.

Clash for Cash involves teams comprised of 2 men or 2 women competing in four different workouts. The winners of each division will walk away with a cash prize provided by the event’s premier sponsors, Motorworld Toyota, Gentex Corporation, Munley Law, Gerrity’s Supermarkets, Corky’s Garden Path Greenhouse, Northeastern PA Oral Surgery, and Fidelity Bank.

Prior to the event, volunteers will transform the convention center into a large scale gymnasium complete with vendors offering clothing and accessories for the fitness fanatic. The competition runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is free to spectators of all ages. For more information call 570-348-1275 or visit alliedservices.org/clashforcash.
