Ashley Reedy, PT, DPT, earns advanced Scoliosis Certification

Ashley Reedy, PT, DPT, Clinic Manager Dunmore Rehab Center, recently became C2 Level Certified in the Schroth-Barcelona Method of Scoliosis treatment, qualifying her to treat children, adolescents, and adults with the condition.

The goal of Schroth exercises is to de-rotate, elongate and stabilize the spine in a three-dimensional plane to achieve a more natural position.  The Schroth Method is a personalized physical therapy regime that can only be directed and supervised by a Schroth certified physical therapist. Allied Services is home to the only Schroth certified physical therapists in Northeast PA. Reedy joins Dawn Van Horn, PT, MS and Sandra Tomasura, PT, both of Allied Services, as the region’s only C1 and C2 Level Schroth-Barcelona Certified therapists.

Reedy graduated from the University of Scranton with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science and Sport, followed by her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Along with her Schroth certification, Reedy also attended McKenzie Parts A, B, and C as well as Mulligan concept courses to help better evaluate and treat lumbar and cervical patients.
