Allied Services set to open new Heinz Rehab Center in Berwick

Grand Opening scheduled for October 5

Allied Services Integrated Health System is preparing to welcome patients to its newest outpatient therapy clinic in Berwick. The Heinz Berwick Rehab Center team will begin working with patients as of Monday, October 1. Senior leadership members, staff, medical professionals from the community, elected officials and the general public will gather for a grand opening celebration on October 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The grand opening comes after months of renovations to the professional building located at 118 East Third Street in Berwick. Today, the space formerly occupied by a medical billing company boasts a large patient-centric rehabilitation gym, comfortable, updated waiting area and separate medical office space.

“What we hope to accomplish is to bring Allied Services’ well-known rehab expertise to the Berwick area” commented Roslyn Rowan, PT, DPT, Clinic Manager. “We’ve actually been serving the Berwick area for a number of years through in-home, non-medical services, and have had patients travel to our other locations including our Heinz Rehab Hospital because of our quality of care and nationally acclaimed outcomes in physical rehabilitation. With this new clinic, we will be better able to serve the needs of patients with disabilities, life-changing injuries, pre and post-surgical rehabilitation and help those with chronic illness, right here in their community.”

Allied Services is a non-profit organization celebrating 60 years of serving the health care and human service needs of children and adults with disabilities, chronic illness and life-changing injuries in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania. In recent years, the organization has invested in cutting-edge rehab technology and facility upgrades for its 16 outpatient rehab centers.

The property on East Third Street was chosen for its prime location and for its size and accessibility. The health system’s goal in securing a long-term commitment in this larger facility is to attract complementary medical specialties, such as podiatry and endocrinology, which are not currently available in the immediate local market.

The Heinz Berwick Rehab Center will offer physical rehabilitation, implementing best-practices, research-based protocols and clinical approaches to improving the quality of life for its patients.

The Heinz Berwick Rehab Center team will include Roslyn Rowan, PT, DPT, Clinic Manager & Executive Director of Outpatient Services; Lisa Sorber, Director of Patient Referral / Verification, and Brandon Kisbaugh, MSPT, Physical Therapist.

Brandon, a Berwick native, has more than 18 years of experience as a physical therapist in a variety of clinical and home-based settings. A graduate of Northwest Area High School, he earned his Masters in Science in Physical Therapy from Misericordia University and is currently pursuing his Certification of Manual Therapy.

Dr. James. M. Mattucci, also a Berwick native, will lead the opening of a satellite office of Orthopaedic Consultants of Wyoming Valley within the medical complex. Dr. Mattucci is one of the region’s premiere board-certified orthopedic surgeons. His focus includes minimally invasive surgeries including knee arthroscopy, shoulder arthroscopy, ACL injuries and rotator cuff repair. Dr. Mattucci also specializes in total knee and hip replacement, hand surgery, fracture care and work or auto-related injuries. His office will begin seeing patients on October 5 and will be available by appointment only by calling 570.752.3060. Geisinger Health Plan and most insurances are accepted.
