Allied Services launches Teen Volunteer Program
Allied Services Hospice is proud to announce the launch of its new Teen Volunteer Program. Volunteers from the local community have played an important role for in supporting patients, families and staff since the creation of Allied Services in-home hospice care in late 2015. Following the opening of the new inpatient Hospice Center in Scranton in early 2018, there is more demand and more opportunities for volunteers of all ages to support the Hospice program.
Allied Services Hospice Teen Volunteer Program is open to young adults between the ages of 14 and 18. Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in “hands-on” activities such as pinning ceremonies to honor Veterans or time spent providing companionship to hospice patients. Alternatively, there will be opportunities to provide support to the Hospice Center, whether baking for families, working to keep the gardens and outdoor spaces tidy and tranquil for families, or assisting with fundraising events. Teen volunteers may also work on life review projects helping to compile scrapbooks that celebrate the lives of hospice patients.
