Heinz Rehab Center staff becomes Partners in MS Care

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society recently announced two new members of its national Partners in MS Care program. Angela Reese, PT, MPT, and Kristina Dorkoski, PT, DPT, of Heinz Rehab Hospital become certified Partners in MS Care, a title that recognizes these healthcare professionals for their demonstrated knowledge, experience and special interest in evaluating and treating people living with multiple sclerosis. They join Allied Services speech and language therapist, Danielle Burrier, as a recognized local resource for multiple sclerosis care. Partners in MS Care throughout the country maintain a collaborative relationship with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society with the goal of assisting people living with multiple sclerosis in accessing and receiving optimal care.

Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and fatigue. According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the disease affects more than 2.3 million people worldwide.
