Allied Services Heinz Rehab Hospital to Host 17th Spirituality and Disability Conference
Allied Services Integrated Health System will be hosting its 17th annual Spirituality and Disability Conference on Thursday, October 19th, from 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM at its Heinz Rehab Hospital, 150 Mundy Street in Wilkes-Barre The topic of this year’s conference is “When the Time Comes: Exploring Hospice and Palliative Care.”
Speakers for the event will include Glen Digwood, D.O., Associative Director, Palliative Care, Geisinger Health System, Scranton; Rev. David H. Pfleiger, B.C.C., retired Lutheran pastor and hospice chaplain; Tanya Kumaria, M.D., Hospitalist and Palliative Care Physician with Physician Health Alliance, Scranton; Attys. John Sanderson III and Scott Sanderson, The Sanderson Law Firm, Scranton; Dawn Jeziorski, LSW, Medical Social Worker and Volunteer Coordinator, Allied Services Hospice, Clarks Summit. Speakers will address the medical, spiritual, and psychosocial issues surrounding the decision to access Palliative Care and/or Hospice.
This event has been approved for 6.0 units of continuing nursing education (CEU) by The Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, and CEUs are pending for social workers and counselors through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers.
