Two Scranton natives celebrate milestone birthdays
Staff at Allied Services Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center in Scranton gathered to help celebrate the milestone birthdays of two of their much-loved residents, Helen Skoritowski and Patricia Renda. Patricia, originally of Scranton, will turn 100 on December 23rd, and Helen, originally of Scranton, will turn 101 on December 25th.
Helen Skoritowski was born and lived in Scranton her whole life. She was married to her late husband Anthony Skoriotwoski for more than 60 years. Helen has 4 children (one deceased) and is the oldest of 5 generations of the Skoritowski family. She worked in a button and a silk mill before having children, was a housewife and then returned to work at a catering business after her children were grown. She has been a resident at Allied Services since February 2013.
Patricia (Poopsie) Renda was born and lived in the Bullshead section of Scranton her whole life. She worked in a factory in Scranton and has been a resident at Allied Services since August 2009. Patricia is a 2-time cancer survivor.
Allied Services Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Scranton is a 371-bed facility providing comprehensive care for both short and long term patients, including specialized respiratory services, wound care, pain management, behavior management and care for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias.
