Meet Brent. He was diagnosed "brain-dead" pre-birth, and it was even suggested to Brent's mother April that she terminate her pregnancy. Brent was believed to be malformed and grossly under-developed, but April continued the pregnancy with hope and prayer, and Brent has not only survived but he has thrived since birth.
Brent was originally referred to Allied for physical therapy and occupational therapy and he recently started speech and language therapy. His therapists are Nicole, Cheryl and Ashley. Though he has had right-side paralysis from a pre-birth stroke and other cerebral challenges, Brent is intelligent and responsive. Brent and his therapists are working on sitting upright, standing and developing feeding abilities. In only a few weeks in speech therapy, Brent is already developing different sounds. His mother credits Allied therapists for a "phenomenal experience."
