Nicole Gallagher
Hi, my name is Nicole Gallagher and I am excited to be running in the ING New York City Marathon as a member of Team Leckey. I am grateful to Jack Williams Tire for selecting me for this and giving me this wonderful opportunity. I ran cross country and track in high school, but stopped running during college. I started up running again about three years ago. I was trying to get back into shape. An old coworker found out that I was running and talked me into doing the Pittsburgh half marathon. I don’t know what I was thinking, but I signed up for it and started the training process. After completing it I was hooked. Since then I have run six half marathons, a 30k, and one full marathon.
I was born and raised in Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania, and about 5 years ago I moved to Danville. I attended Clarion University for two years and then transferred to Bloomsburg University where I graduated with a B.S. in Biology. I currently work for Geisinger Health Plan as the medical policy research coordinator.
Running has helped me get through some difficult times and to be able to run for such an incredible cause and help others is such a great opportunity.
