Mike McCabe
Mike McCabe, a resident of Kingston, Pa., is the ‘big brother’ and ‘training partner’ of fellow Ryan’s Run Team Member, Eric McCabe. He is the proud Father of a teenage daughter, Megan, who has also recently taken up running as a passion. Mike has completed several local and nationally recognized endurance events over the years and thoroughly enjoys the camaraderie and personal challenges along the way!
Mike is a heavy equipment operator, as well as a proud United States Army Veteran. While stationed in Vicenza, Italy, Mike was a member of an Airborne Battalion Combat Team, where he earned his British paratrooper wings. During his military service, Mike had the privilege of participating in the 45th Anniversary of D-Day ceremony by parachuting into the town of Saint-Mere Eglise while WWII Veterans observed from the ground. “It was an experience and an honor I will never forget”.
I started running while stationed in Vicenza, Italy and have completed 2 sub 4 hour full marathons and a number of half marathons as well as many other races. The most memorable this year was the X-Terra series Mocanaqua half and the Tough Mudder in April which benefitted the Wounded Warrior Foundation. My brother Eric and I finished in the top 5% earning an invitation to the 24th championship held in November.
