Angela Montagna
My name is Angela Montagna and I couldn’t be happier to have won a place on this wonderful team of runners thanks to major sponsor, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. I am a first time marathoner but have run various half-marathons in Philadelphia and New York. I also completed the 13.2 mile Tough Mudder in the Poconos this past May.
I am a Kindergarten through Second Grade Special Education teacher at Newton-Ransom Elementary, part of the Abington Heights School District. I have been a witness to the wonderful work that Allied has done for my students. From being able to tell us what they would like for lunch to being able to kick a ball in gym class, Allied has worked miracles for my special students. I feel I am always encouraging my students to NEVER let ANYONE tell them they cannot do something. I try to be an example that you can do anything you put your mind to and that many things in life are worth working hard and fighting for. I am pictured with one of my “fighters” Norah who has taught me more in life than I taught her.
I reside in Suscon, Pennsylvania with my “coach” and loving husband Joe, my two loves of my life, Zoe (11) and Sophia (5), and our English bulldog, Ramsey. I dedicate this marathon to them, for without them, many things in life would not be worth doing. I also run for my students in hopes of encouraging them to fight on and never give up.
