Amy Neugebauer

My name is Amy Neugebauer and I’m honored to be running the 2012 NYC Marathon for Allied Services. Allied Services is near and dear to my heart; five years ago, my brother-in-law was injured in an ATV accident and needed rehab. John Heinz Rehab was there for our family when we needed it most. Then a close friend suffered a terrible fall and needed to utilize the services of Allied for many months. Allied Services was a “God Send” in both instances!

This will be my 11th marathon, including Steamtown, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and the Boston Marathon. In addition to the NYC Marathon in 2012, I will also be traveling to Las Vegas to run the “strip at night.” I enjoy the challenge of marathon running and I tell my students “if I can run 26.2 miles you can achieve whatever goal you put your mind to.” If you told me 3 years ago I’d be running marathons, I would’ve told you that you were crazy as I couldn’t even run a mile without stopping.

I live in the Honesdale area with my husband, Greg, and work as a school counselor at Honesdale High School. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Kutztown University, Master’s Degree in Secondary School Counseling from University of Scranton, and my Principal’s Certification K-12, Master of Education, from Wilkes University.

I’m honored to have been selected to run as part of Ryan’s Run team and to support a local charity.
