Golden Living donates $1,000 to Allied Services

The staff and residents of Golden Living recently received a visit from Gareth Henderson, an official member of WNEP’s Ryan’s Run 7. Henderson visited Golden Living Center’s East Mountain location in Wilkes-Barre to receive a donation of $1,000 on behalf of the charity campaign.

On November 6, Henderson and 51 other local athletes including WNEP’s Ryan Leckey, will run the TCS New York City Marathon. The team is raising funds and awareness for children and adults with disabilities, life-changing injuries and chronic illness at Allied Services. A teacher at Northwest School District in Shickshinny, Henderson is an avid runner and cross country coach. Golden Living provides both short- and long-term nursing home care. Jack Williams Tire has been a major sponsor of WNEP’s Ryan’s Run for over six years, donating more than $90,000 to benefit children and adults with disabilities. This year, the campaign is so much personal for Jack Williams Tire. Watch here as Senior Mechanic, Tim Ramagli, shares how his son’s progress and achievements at Allied Services motivated him to join Team Leckey. Tim, whose son Joey has Charge Syndrome, will be running the TCS New York City Marathon on November 6.

Weis Markets Proud Six Year Sponsors of WNEP’s Ryan’s Run


Allied Services Integrated Health System is proud to announce Weis Markets as a returning major sponsor of WNEP’s Ryan’s Run 7, the annual campaign to raise funds for children and adults with disabilities at Allied Services. As a 6-year major sponsor, Weis Markets has donated more than $90,000 to Allied Services. The funds, along with donations from individuals, school, businesses and other major sponsors, enable the non-profit health system to invest in cutting-edge rehab technology, services and staff to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities and life-changing injuries.

“We’re proud to be a Major Sponsor of Ryan’s Run and to be helping individuals and families affected by life-changing injuries and disabilities get the care they need” said Dennis Curtin, Director of Public Relations. “As a locally focused retailer, we are committed to giving back to the communities we serve and are pleased to be working with the Allied Team.”

On November 6, WNEP TV’s Ryan Leckey and 50 other area runners will complete the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon. The legendary footrace marks the culmination of the WNEP’s Ryan’s Run campaign and months of fundraising and awareness-raising for Allied Services. Weis Markets will be represented by Erin Long, MS, RDN, LDN, Retail Healthy Living Coordinator. This will be her third marathon.

“As a Registered Dietitian at Weis Markets, my goal is to inspire people to live healthier lives. It’s a rewarding feeling when I guide customers to make small changes that can eventually lead to a big impact on their health. I feel the same way about running to benefit Allied Services. It’s truly incredible how much of a positive influence WNEP’s Ryan’s Run has had on the lives of so many people” commented Ms. Long.
