Team Leckey Runners? Awe-Inspiring Performance at the 2011 ING NYC Marathon
On November 6, 2011, 2.8 million people packed the streets of New York City to watch one of the most iconic races, the New York City Marathon. Marathon officials estimate that more than 47,000 people competed in the 2011 ING NYC Marathon, raising more than $31 million for countless charities.
Among the thousands were 20 runners representing a local non-profit organization, Allied Services Integrated Health System. Allied Services congratulates Team Leckey on their awe-inspiring performances:

The Team Leckey runners, led for a second year by WNEP-TV?s Ryan Leckey, represented runners of all ability levels and backgrounds, united by a common cause; to improve the lives of children and adults with disabilities in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Race day marked the culmination of 5 month campaign, Ryan?s Run, to raise funds to update rehab technology used to treat children and adults with disabilities at Heinz Rehab Hospital, Wilkes-Barre and Allied Rehab Hospital, Scranton.
During the campaign, Ryan Leckey and WNEP-TV educated viewers on the role of technology in rehabilitation for individuals with disabilities or life-changing injuries. He visited National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, DC to witness for himself the value of one particular piece of equipment; the ZeroG, an advanced weight support system that helps patients rehab faster, reducing recovery time and getting them back to their lives.
Thanks to the dedication of the runners and the generosity of the local community, the 2011 Ryan?s Run campaign raised $226,532.06 and counting. Allied Services stands ready to bring this cutting-edge rehabilitation technology to the individuals it serves in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
