For the third year running, Allied Services Integrated Health System has been awarded the prestigious Bronze charity status by the ING New York City marathon organizers. What’s more, in this, the 4th annual campaign, Ryan’s Run has grown to a team of almost 50 runners.
The preparations for the 4th Ryan’s Run campaign are off to a strong start, thanks to the support of returning major sponsors Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, Northeastern Rehabilitation Associates, Jack Williams Tire Center, Weis Markets, Parente Beard, LLC and new major sponsors Pocono Raceway and Mericle Commerical Real Estate Services.
22 of the runners who trained and raised funds for the 2012 marathon, which was canceled in the aftermath of hurricane Sandy, will run for Allied Services in 2013. These runners will be joined by 27 new athletes prepared to take on the challenge of running the 26.2 miles of this legendary marathon. Although team members are drawn from 4 states, 30+ communities and many professions, they are united by the love of running and the desire to make a positive impact in the lives of people with disabilities.
In the past 3 years, the Ryan’s Run campaign has raised more than $500,000 for children and adults with disabilities served by Allied Services. The funds raised during Ryan’s Run 4 will enable Allied Services to continue investing in the staff, technology and services which touch the lives of more than 5,000 people in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania each day.
