The Center for Learning, Attention and Memory at Allied Rehab in Scranton and Scotrun, begins the process with a qualified psychological examiner administering comprehensive neuropsychological testing. This testing includes measures of intelligence, perception, memory attention, language, sensory motor skills and academic achievement. In addition, measures of mood, adjustment, temperament and vocational interests are administered. Experienced licensed psychologists interpret the results of the evaluation and provide individuals with an understanding of their learning profile as well as recommendations to capitalize on their strengths and compensate for their weaknesses.
Individuals are also provided with information to help them cope with emotional, psychological and environmental barriers.

Individuals meet with a psychological examiner one-on-one and undergo a series of tests designed to determine the exact nature and severity of their cognitive and learning problems. This phase is typically scheduled for two sessions lasting approximately 3-4 hours.
Licensed clinical psychologists, rehabilitation counselors, cognitive therapists and psychological examiners staff the department. All are proficient in the understanding of the cognitive, emotional, psychological and physiological needs of people with disabilities.
